In Delegate Iaquinto's first General Assembly session in 2006, he was appointed by the Speaker of the House to three important committees: Courts of Justice, Transportation, and Counties, Cities and Towns. He was also appointed to the Speaker's Task Force on Public Safety, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, and the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program. Both his work on these committees and commissions, and the bills he introduces reflect his interest in protecting the public from dangerous criminals, strengthening private property rights in the Commonwealth, and safeguarding our tax dollars for future transportation projects and other core government services.

As the top aide for the district's former representative and now Virginia's Attorney General, Bob McDonnell, Sal worked both in the General Assembly and with constituents in the district office. During this time, he gained invaluable experience both in legislating and in providing the high level of service that residents deserve.
